I was working on plans for the next theme week but unfortunately sickness has reared it's ugly head. So I'm going to post cool stuff I see online in between coughing my lungs out.
If you're looking for interesting conversations on tech and modern life then I recommend Team Human with Douglas Rushkoff. Though, a warning, go in with an open mind as these talks often get mystical and magickal. A side of humanity that liberals are not too keen on embracing and which the conservatives have happily taken up.
What I keep thinking about from this particular conversation is the worry about the amount of scifi that depicts AI as bad. While I know AI is not conscious, it does draw on the writings of humans and if so then will it do bad for human things because that is it's reference point? Bad training, bad data means bad model, no?
Should we be writing scifi that depicts machines as saving the planet to counter balance?
