Despite the incredible amount of information on the web, it's still amazing to come across something you didn't know about.
Jungle Jim's is a grocery store. The largest in the land. Located in my neighbor state of Ohio. And oozing with has Casa Bonita1 vibes. Until this morning, I had no idea that it existed. This bizzaro, Midwestern dreamscape is less than a five hour drive from me and I've been blind to it!
This has filled me with hope, and I can't quite place why. Perhaps the discovery of something independent, strange, and unknown to me. Maybe the way Jungle Jim runs his store. Or that it has survived for decades in the face of stiff competition and narrow margins.
Whatever it is, I thank the internet gods for throwing this on my Youtube during my morning coffee watch. A great a way to start the day and keep me feeling good about life.
