I've been trying to learn AI for my resume, and the more I use it, the more I hate it. And the more I hate office work. And the more I realize I've been in a career of bullshit jobs.
I'm tired of it. And honestly, I'm fine with AI doing data shit, coding, testing technical junk. I just don't want to even babysit that. I don't want to have anything to do with it.
The last job I had, I was asked to create a process to draft blog posts using AI. Setting up the pipeline was interesting, but it churned out garbage. Just absolute garbage which I think created more work for the editors than anything. I tried reading those posts before passing them on, but I wasn't a product expert. I was the tech guy.
Also, the writing was shit so I just couldn't bother to get through it.
I'm not a complete hater of AI. But I think it should be narrow in expertise, small models that can run locally, and trained on shit from within the organization. Not these giant one-size-fits-all piles of crap.
It should be lightening the load. Not adding to it. We should be moving to lower hours a week with the same pay. AI taking on bullshit parts of the job.
So now I'm in the unemployment pool like so many others. Trying to balance learning AI (cause every fucking job wants it) with craving work that I can be proud of and do shit that means something. Instead of this desk jockey shit I've always done.
